Award Ceremony

The Videonale Audience Award of KfW Stiftung goes to Florian Pugnaire and David Raffini

The public has decided: With a clear margin, the visitors to VIDEONALE.15 have selected “Énergie Sombre“ by Florian Pugnaire and David Raffini as their favourite among the 38 video works exhibited there.

In their work the French artists stage the destruction of a car as an evolutionary cycle. Exposed to invisible forces the guideless vehicle defies in a futile struggle.

Citing roadmovie and Science Fiction themes “Énergie Sombre“ is positioned somewhere between video installation and sculpture.

At the finissage on April 19 2015, Nicola Müllerschön, programme manager for art and culture at KfW Stiftung, presented the Videonale Audience Award of KfW Stiftung of 3.000 Euro to Pugnaire and Raffini. The KfW Stiftung is a supporter of Videonale and also awards the Videonale Award of KfW Stiftung, selected by a jury and worth 5.000 Euro.

“The diversity of works presented at Videonale is also reflected by the feedback of the audience. With the Videonale Audience Award of KfW Stiftung, we invite the visitors to tell us about their exhibition favourites”, says Müllerschön. “We are very pleased with the high level of participation and offer our congratulations to Florian Pugnaire and David Raffini.”

In addition, Müllerschön was able to congratulate a further prize winner, one of the numerous visitors who took part in the voting for the Videonale Audience Award of KfW Stiftung. The winner was presented with a travel voucher, also awarded by the KfW Stiftung and worth 1.000 euros, for a visit to one of the cities to be visited by VIDEONALE.15 on Tour.
