Interview:

» 1. Your work has been chosen among over 1200 festival entries to participate in VIDEONALE.15. In which context do you prefer to present your work, festival/cinema context or exhibition? And what kind of difference does the respective mode of presentation mean for you / your work?

The preferred presentation of the work „You’re always making things without beginnings or ends“ not just decided by the representational situation of that context but also by the possibilities of recognition and reception. In presenting in cinematographic context the shortfilm confronts the audience by his self-reflected filmic approach and its theatrical expermental form. within the context of an exhibition the work especially unfolds its performative character and its discourse on art and performance upon viewers.

» 2. How do you see “The Call of the Wild“ reflected in your work presented at VIDEONALE.15?

The call of the wild could be something my protagonists strive for, a situation that is not controlled by codes. Finally, their expression is the call of the wild, these females do call and what they call is wild. last but not least, it does not matter what i think, how my work refers to the theme, the curators, respectively the jury does know about that.

» 3. Can you describe your intention for doing art in one sentence?

It became my personal happy science piece of how to create own structures and construct situations of experimental narration, post-dramatic medialisations and alternative world perspectives.

» 4. In which way is the video medium an excellent possibility to express your intended subjects, especially in contrast to other media you use? Or do you work exclusively with video?

I do explore social-political and normative-narrative themes within installations, performance, painting, theater, literature and multi media projects and interdisciplinairy fields in between as well as the impact of that certain media itself on the choosen topic.

» 5. If you have the chance to ask the visitors of the VIDEONALE.15 exhibition questions about your own work, what would be your question?

What topics, questions or concerns would like to be talked about in my film? Or if you would like to have one sentence in one of my next films, what would it be? Or furthermore, if you could construct a situation, f.e. play a role, within one of my artworks, what would that be?
