I am still as enthusiastic about this work as I was ten years ago. With the way the artists speaks and looks straight into the camera, the viewer is directly involved – and also somewhat embarrassed. Jacqueline Forzelius is obviously annoyed and disappointed by the behaviour of her unseen guest – or does she perhaps mean me, the viewer? And yet one cannot take her accusations seriously because her behaviour leaves much to be desired and her monologue and her actions reveal distinct schizophrenic tendencies. It is fascinating to observe how the artists involves us in her work while at the same time leaving us outside in the cold. Have a look at this work: THIS IS GOOD FOR YOU!

Ten years ago I seldom took the time to view a video work from the very beginning to the end, and tended to avoid video art. Nowadays this is what I like best of all. The intensive confrontation with video art during my involvement with VIDEONALE.10 showed me the way to video art in all its facets and opened me the door to a wonderful and fascinating world. The long-term involvement with Videonale has been a great enrichment – I shall watch Videonale’s future development with great interest. I am looking forward to whatever may happen and say THANK YOU!
